Vital Statistics include the recording and issuing of Certified Copies of Birth, Death, Marriage Records, the issuance of Marriage Licenses, Application for Passports, Recording of Notary Commissions, Hospital Liens, and Ministerial Credentials.  The Vital Statistic Records for Minnesota start in 1870.  The Vital Statistic duties were transferred from the Court Administrator to the County Recorder on June 1, 1990.
