The Faribault County Recorder is able to process requests for Certified Copies of Death for the entire State of Minnesota for any death occurring from 1997 to the present in the State of Minnesota. For a Certified Copy of a Death occurring before 1997 you will need to contact the county in which the death occurred. Faribault County death records start in 1870. To obtain a Certified Copy of Death you will need to complete a Tangible Interest form. You may download the Tangible Interest form from the Minnesota State Department of Health link or we can mail or fax the Tangible Interest form to you. The Tangible Interest form is needed for any request of a Certified Copy of Death. This form must be completed and signed before a notary public.
